MEDIA APPEARANCE: Guest on the Kicking the Seat's "Obi-Watch" YouTube roundtable for "Obi-Wan Kenobi" Episodes 1 and 2

With Ian Simmons, the the host of the Kicking the Seat podcast and YouTube channel, swearing off all things Marvel for a year after Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and Moon Knight, that leaves “Earth’s Mightiest Critics” to talk about Star Wars instead. I was delighted to signup as a regular guest for Ian’s “Obi-Watch” YouTube reaction show for the new Disney+ series Obi-Wan Kenobi starring Ewan McGregor. Enjoy listening and watching Ian, myself, David Fowlie of Keeping it Reel, Mark Krawczyk of Special Mark Productions, and Mike Crowley of You’ll Probably Agree work out the sand from our eyes and couches talking about this show. Enjoy!

MEDIA APPEARANCE: Included in Hollywood Critics Association "Gradebook" for "Chip 'n Dale: Rescue Rangers"

Upon being accepted into the Hollywood Critics Association, their fine site-runners and admins assemble “Gradebooks” collecting early reviews and grades from their critics on popular releases. When I can get more work completed and a review submitted early enough, my take and connected quotes have the chance to make these shout-out posts. My newest was being included for Chip ‘n Dale: Rescue Rangers playing now on Disney+. Check out your boy!

PODCAST: Episode 63 of "The Cinephile Hissy Fit" Podcast

For their 63rd episode, two "game over" film critics, non-Texan dads, and exhausted school teachers Will Johnson and Don Shanahan bring a new "Deep Cut" episode where the gentleman feature a performer or creator and dive into their resumes. Their pick this time is the late, great hayseed everyman Bill Paxton. Will and Don genuflect at his greatest hits while offering a few choice films of his maybe you haven't seen or too easily forgotten. They love and miss the guy and we think you will too.

PODCAST: Episode 62 of "The Cinephile Hissy Fit" Podcast

For their 62nd episode, two special forces film critics, non-absentee dads, and exhausted school teachers Will Johnson and Don Shanahan welcome a new special guest. Say hello to the deep library of interests and knowledge that comes from Michael Fett, a Phoenix area buddy of Will's and a big fan of the show. He joined us to record two episodes with the movie selection goals of weirding Don out. His first was Who Dares Wins, also known as The Final Option, a underseen British terrorist actioner starring former and forgotten Bond replacement candidate Lewis Collins and a young Judy Davis.

MEDIA APPEARANCE: Guest on the Kicking the Seat's YouTube roundtable for "Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness"

As teased last week with the conclusion of Moon Knight, Marvel may have finally broken Kicking the Seat’s Ian Simmons with the new summer tentpole Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Enjoy this chat between myself, Ian, David Fowlie of Keeping it Reel, and Mike Crowley of 25YL and You’ll Probably Agree, and, taking his first official seat among “Earth’s Mightiest Critics,” Mark Krawczyk of Special Mark Productions for this sometimes contentious discussion. The randomness and, as I call them, inconsistencies within the MCU have become too much for some. Where did you fall on this latest blockbuster?

PODCAST: Episode 61 of "The Cinephile Hissy Fit" Podcast

For their 61st episode, two undead film critics, magic-wielding dads, and heroic school teachers Will Johnson and Don Shanahan have made it to summer’s opening blockbuster: Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. The resident Marvel Shill and the Rotten Tomatoes critic put on their sling rings and opened their portals far apart for this combination of Sam Raimi and the Marvel Cinematic Universe. There’s no magical way to argue, but these guys do anyway.

MEDIA APPEARANCE: Guest on the Kicking the Seat's YouTube "Wednesday Knight Live" roundtable for "Moon Knight" Episode 6 finale

It was season finale time this week for “Wednesday Knight Live” hosted by Ian Simmons on his Kicking the Seat YouTube Channel. Even with a reasonably action-packed conclusion, Moon Knight couldn’t end soon enough for “Earth’s Mightiest Critics.” This show has almost broken poor Ian of the MCU. Still, enjoy this chat between myself, Ian, David Fowlie of Keeping it Reel, “King of Geeks” personality Elliott Serrano, Mark Krawczyk of Special Mark Productions, and Annie Banks of Chuck Load of Comics for the discussion.

MEDIA APPEARANCE: Guest on the Kicking the Seat's YouTube "Wednesday Knight Live" roundtable for "Moon Knight" Episode 5

I’m a little late in posting last week’s “Wednesday Knight Live” hosted by Ian Simmons on his Kicking the Seat YouTube Channel. After the finale this week, I needed to catch up. This show for the the fifth and penultimate episode became a sausage fest of just the men. Ian, myself, “King of Geeks” personality Elliott Serrano, Mark Krawczyk of Special Mark Productions shrugged our way through the mythology and antics of Marvel’s Moon Knight. Like always, we wonder how they will wrap everything else with only one to go. Enjoy the show!

MEDIA APPEARANCE: Included in Banana Meter's Overlooked Spotlight for "Marvelous and the Black Hole"

The newly-formed Rotten Tomatoes alternative Banana Meter has been gathering talented critics and hoping to make a social media splash. They’ve been timely and spirited with highlighting their members and getting their reviews out there. One of these frequent features is a collection of first reactions or a collected round-up for big new releases. If I can get my work done early enough, I have the chance of my work and grade being selected for one of those hot-off-the-press features. It’s an honor to join friends and peers for such an inclusion. Here’s my highlight from Turning Red. Find and follow the Banana Meter on Twitter. Check out your boy!

MEDIA APPEARANCE: Participant in "World of Reel" Critics Poll for Best Films of the 1970s

As I have grown in press credentials and professional affiliations nationally, I have found myself landing in circles with other film critics of various levels. Recently, I was included in my fourth call for voting critics for Jordan Ruimy of World of Reel. He is a fellow Rotten Tomatoes-approved critic who also has contributed to The Young Folks, The Playlist, We Got This Covered, and The Film Stage. His poll was to collect the Top Films of the 1970s from over 150 critics and other industry folk. I was honored to chime in with my 15 unranked selections to be included with some very high professional company.

PODCAST: Episode 60 of "The Cinephile Hissy Fit" Podcast

For their 60th episode, two calmly-pulsed film critics, non-absentee dads, and astronomical school teachers Will Johnson and Don Shanahan welcomed back previous guest Aaron White, one of the hosts of the successful Feelin' Film Podcast. Like last time with Passengers, we stay in space, but in a solar system far closer to home and with way, way, way less pissing and moaning across the three opinions. It's the recent and ruminative Brad Pitt vehicle Ad Astra that calms our combined civility to talk about quieter science fiction and father-son dynamics.

MEDIA APPEARANCE: Guest on the Kicking the Seat's YouTube "Wednesday Knight Live" roundtable for "Moon Knight" Episode 4

If last week’s “Wednesday Knight Live” hosted by Ian Simmons on his Kicking the Seat YouTube Channel was any indication, the Moon Knight show and all of us at “Earth’s Mightiest Critics” are off the rails. Twist be damned in the fourth episode, most of us are checked out and the comedy that ensues because of that and the listener comments really made the show very entertaining this week, gutter humor and all! Enjoy myself, Ian, “King of Geeks” personality Elliott Serrano, Mark Krawczyk of Special Mark Productions, and Annie Banks of Chuck Load of Comics for all the laughs!
