SPECIAL INTEREST: Upcoming book examines renowned director David Fincher
For those of you who saw the fantastic second trailer released this week for the upcoming film "Gone Girl," you were quickly reminded of the talent that is director David Fincher. Slated for release this October, his newest film is an adaptation of Gillian Flynn's 2012 best-selling novel and stars Academy Award winner Ben Affleck. The future Caped Crusader plays a desperate husband searching for truth and the chance to clear his name in the ongoing investigation of his wife's murder where he is the prime suspect. The trailer exudes the signature atmosphere for unnerving and steady-building suspense that is signature David Fincher.
If the name doesn't ring a bell, his decorated resume will. Between "Se7en," "Fight Club," "Panic Room," "Zodiac," "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button," "The Social Network," and the American adaptation of "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo," Fincher has solidified his position as one of the finest directors of his generation and one the absolute best of any age working today. His recent television success with Netflix's "House of Cards," is a successful cherry on top of that impressive vitae.

He cracked into feature films after doing music videos, becoming one of the first to cross over from that genre into movies. Dr. Laurence Knapp, an editor from University Press of Mississippi, has compiled and created the newest book in the "Conversations with Filmmakers" series. Knapp recently sat down with the Fincher Fanatic blog to discuss the upcoming book, You can check out that interview here.
