5 Tips For The Perfect Movie Night
by Andrew Adams
Movie nights are great occasions. Whether you invite a few friends over or just have your own private affair, they're the perfect excuse to eat junk food and grab a drink while laughing at terrible jokes. But it doesn't always go so smoothly so here are 5 tips for how to create the perfect movie night.
Pick a movie that everyone in the group wants to watch
When picking a movie to watch, it’s important to make sure that everyone in the group is on board. It can be frustrating when half the group wants to watch one movie and the other half wants to watch something different. If you have a big group, try to pick a movie that has something for everyone. For example, if everyone wants to watch a comedy, don't recommend something like a documentary about DUI defense attorneys, try to compromise and find something everyone is okay with, that way there won’t be any disagreements and everyone can enjoy the movie.
Be sure to have enough snacks on hand
One of the most important things to have for a movie night is snacks. You don’t want your stomach rumbling and distracting you from the movie, or worse, having people think they need to go get something to eat because you didn't provide enough food. There are plenty of good snack options while watching a movie; some of our favorites include popcorn, chips and dip, chocolate, and pizza. Don't be afraid to change it up though, anything you feel like making or getting will do just fine.
Turn off all electronic devices and put them away
Many people these days can't go an hour without checking their phones. And while there's nothing wrong with that, it can be a bit of a problem when it comes to movie nights. If you're trying to watch a movie and half the group is on their phones, it can be really distracting for everyone trying to watch the movie. That's why we recommend turning off all devices and putting them away before the movie even starts. It may be a pain to have to do this every time, but it'll be worth it when everyone is able to focus on the movie and not their phones.
Have plenty of blankets, and comfortable seating options available
Many people like to get cozy when they watch a movie, and that's why it's important to have plenty of blankets, pillows, and comfortable seating options available. This way, everyone can choose what makes them most comfortable and can relax while watching their favorite film. Having plenty of blankets and pillows also means that people don't have to fight over who gets to use them and everyone can make their own perfect movie environment.
Play the movie on a good TV
Playing the movie in a big room with a good TV and sound system is definitely the way to go. Not only will everyone in the group be able to see and hear the movie, but they'll also be able to do so without any distractions. This is especially important if you're trying to watch a suspenseful or scary movie; you'll want to make sure that everyone is able to focus on the film without any outside noise.
When it comes to movie nights, following these five tips will help ensure that everything goes smoothly and everyone has a good time. Whether you're picking the movie, providing enough snacks, or making sure that all electronic devices are turned off, these tips will help create the perfect movie night for you and your friends. So put on your favorite film, grab some snacks, and get cozy; it's time for a movie night!
