How to create an interior design like from the movies you adore

Which of us at least once did not want to feel like a hero of a film? Western, action, melodrama - it doesn't matter. And everyone seems to be happy (after all, there will definitely be a happy end in the film). But do not forget that all these beautiful houses from your favorite TV series are temporary decorations. Is it worth adjusting your life to the picture on the screen?

The masters of architecture, art critics, and simply not indifferent have long argued on this topic - they discuss the interiors of science fiction films, palaces, and views from windows in historical sagas, the arrangement of furniture and curtains in dramas ... the interior, the picture, to take it out of context, to steal, in the end, from the main characters, is not an easy task.

It doesn't matter if the characters of the film are in Italian castle, whether they stand on French balconies overlooking the Champs Elysees, swear in New York lofts, save friends from a terrible scrape in South American hotels. We really want to use these decorations in our everyday life. But do not forget that for directors and screenwriters all this is just a background.

Everyone around them is fighting over the conversion of standard housing like apartments near Chicago into Hollywood apartments, and the happy owners of serious bank deposits are thinking about how to fit their ideal interior into the landscape with panoramic sea views. Both are in search of the same truth - how to make a lifestyle out of a glossy fairy tale. It's not so scary to buy a Rolls-Royce as it is scary to service it.

In my opinion, it is not people who should fit into the interiors, but the interiors should adapt to the people. Even the most futuristic houses are not built by robots, but by people, adapting them for themselves, for their needs.

Take, for example, beloved George Lucas and Stanley Kubrick, Tarkovsky with Solaris: minimum color, minimum space, maximum ergonomics, and functionality in a confined space. At the same time, everyone has something human, which gives us the opportunity to compare ourselves with the heroes of films.

Digging deeper: Back to the Future. Interiors of the 80s and interiors of the late 19th century, in which Marty McFly is presented as Clint Eastwood. And naive, but still believable villas and interiors of our days in the same film. Marty! 2015 has already arrived, and we still do not have Nikes that shrink to fit the right size.

But the viewer of the 2000s is closer to the interiors and lifestyle of the heroes of the series Sex and the City. The key combination is "lifestyle", "stereotype" - this is what our ideas about life in a particular era and country are. And shapes their art. And the most important of the arts is, as you know, cinema. Now a little about the complex and interesting. How to make a cinema interior a reality? Use at least to some extent, or try to imitate? Let's start with the classification.

Don't watch the movie, try to pay attention only to the interiors: pause, take pictures.

To embody a cinematic interior at home, first of all, you need to understand their main types.

Futuristic interior

The interiors of the future are a fluid-structure. Every decade, packs of films and cartoons are released with different ideas about what and how it will look. There is a lot of futurism in them of the 60s of the twentieth century. It even sneaked into Men in Black in the form of an uncomfortable chair, where Will Smith fills out a questionnaire.

A futuristic approach to interior design can be achieved with the help of the high-tech style. To find furniture pieces in this style you can go to NY Furniture Outlets. When you get furniture like a dining table, you should also get table covers or tablecloths. Don't forget to learn how to properly fold your round tablecloths so it'll be easy to store them

Background interiors

They do not play a major role, there are many of them throughout the film. For example, in the TV series The Big Bang Theory. In the films The Ghost Writer by Roman Polanski or The Story of Us with Bruce Willis. The interiors in them always sound in such a way that we do not remember exactly where the action took place. It was happening. Here you can cling to a specific fragment of the interior, detail, piece of furniture.

Enhancing sensations

Of course, these are historical films, and movies where interiors play an important aesthetic function. All James Bond films are like that, Sex and the City, and so on. If you are inspired by the interiors in spy movies you can read this article. Such an interior should not be overestimated. It is technically possible to recreate such interiors, but you will not get the same feeling. Because Paris of the D'Artagnan era is located in Riga.

Static interiors

This is a separate song. The entire film is one and the same interior or a minimum of variety. Four Rooms and The Grand Hotel Budapest, for example. Can they be applied in life? It is unlikely, think yourself: for example, most of the events in Four Rooms "feel like" takes place in the hotel rooms and reception.

What advice can there be for those who nevertheless decided to recreate the cinematic interior of the house? Don't watch the movie, try to pay attention only to the interiors: pause, save frames. It will be useful to read the reviews and the history of creation, learn about the locations of filming.
